Fishing

Okavango River

Our location up North have us close to the Okavango River ideal for game viewing which include the big 5 in the Caprivi and river fishing. We fish several bream species tiger fish and catfish on the river. Our fishing guides stay next to the river year-round and know the river very well.

Frequent sightings of crocodile and Hippo is not uncommon while fishing. Comfortable accommodation and meals with breathtaking river sunsets make the Okavango experience a definite must do activity.

Namibian West coast- Hentiesbay

We have a fishing cabin in Hentiesbay on the Namibian west coast. The cabin is newly built and comfortable with everything you need. We do shore fishing and boat fishing depending on time of year and your preferences. Catching a bronze whaler shark or spotted gulley shark from shore is a challenge and an exceptional fight and can keep you busy anything from 45 minutes to 2 hours.

Angling for Cob, Steenbra, Galjoen and many more species wil give you a great time next to the water. Apart from the fishing there’s many sightseeing spots to visit from seal colonies to the Namib deserts dunes and boat charters around Walvisbay where you can spot the Mola Mola (sun fish) around Walvisbay harbour.

Swakopmund with its distinct German culture, food and argitecture is always popular with our clients.

A couple of days at the coast is a good relaxing finish to your trip.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

Greg Schultheis - 2023 United States

Would Return! Walk and Stalk style Hunting. The way a real Hunt is to be. If results were not productive changed Tactics to ensure success.

Arthur Westwood - 2023 United States

My wife and I were thrilled with our trip. It was the best trip we have ever taken. We were extremely happy with everything. We loved the food the host and the side trips. We were very well taken care of and the hunting was wonderful.

Steve Johnson - 2023 United States

Great Namibian Hunting and Fishing. The hunting was great, the tiger fish fishing was fun and the people we got to spend our time with were even better. Nico, his family and the entire organization work extremely hard for their guests, and they make it look easy. I would highly recommend hunting with Eldoret and, if I could, I would jump on a plane and go back tomorrow.

Dan Morgan - 2015 Canada

Warm Friendly Family Hunt Event. Varied site hunting on 3 different properties in Namibia. Nico and his family were excellent hosts. My wife and sister-in-law went on several Safari adventures while my brother-in-law and I hunted. It was a real-life African life experience.

Bill Newbury - 2020 United States

Hunting with Family. Nico and Vasti enabled my partner and I to feel as though we were hunting with distant family unlike other outfitters I have used. The entire time with them was such a joy. For breakfast each morning, at our request, we had “Pop.” - hot cereal even though a larger breakfast was offered. I really enjoyed the Pig Snout tradition in the evening along with Jaeger. I thought it was funny that I was the first person to nominate Nico as the snout recepient. The trip to the Coast, fishing, the dunes and return to the Capital for our departure were all 1st class.

David - 2011 United States

Authentic Fair Chase Hunting. There were so many things I enjoyed about hunting with Eldoret, that it’s hard to say what was the best part of the experience. The remoteness, the wildness and the game made the place special, but the outfitter and the camp life made it unique. I have been fortunate to hunt all over the globe, and this place is one I plan to return too. Any time you want to "get away" from the crowds, it takes time. Be prepared to travel

Fantastic Adventure! Excellent communication, focus on details and very accommodating. Willing to adapt to customers needs. Food, Guides, trackers and staff were all A-1. Fishing and hunting with views of surrounding area was outstanding. Excellent game quality. Looking forward to going back!

Daniel McGeeHee - 2021 United States

Great Hunt! Nico and Vasti went above and beyond to make this a memorable hunt. Great lodging, food, service, game, et al. Highly recommended!

John Hossack - 2012, 2014 Australia

My last hunt in 2014 was full of real adventure - Mountain Zebra was a real hunt experience, the camp was great as was the company! The Mountain Zebra Hunt and Gemsbok Hunt.

Pottie de Bruyn - Every year almost since 2010 NAMIBIA

Hunt like you are supposed to… Hunting means different things to different people. Hunting there is for hunters. You have very comfortable and rustic facilities, you can go off-the-grid if you want to. It is not a "party place", yet you can have the best time of your life around the quiet fireside. The people are unique and likely to be your best friends if you share their values. You don't have guarantees, yet you don't need any, they do their utmost for you to have a great time. Still hunting like it was done 60 years ago!

Dan Morgan - 2012 Canada

Friendly Hospitality, Family atmosphere. Excellent food, Accommodation. Safe, ethical, and sustainable Hunt. Genuine concern for future of hunting in Namibia.
Over all too soon, would book for longer next time.

David Poirier - 2015 Canada

Hunting Plains Game in Namibia. This entire trip to Namibia was a life changing experience. The outfitter (Nico and Vasti) made us feel like we were part of their family. My tracker, Sam, may be one of the best there is - anywhere. And the hunt was tough, but successful - just the way I like it - few good things in our life come easy.

HUNTER STORIES

Thoughts from a Namibian Hunt

As the dust settled from the departing herd, we slowly started walking to where I shot the eland bull of my dreams, and found him lying a mere 20 metres further on.  Emotions and trembling hands followed.  It was the culmination of six years and five trips to Eldoret Hunting in the north-east of Namibia.  Although there had been close calls every year, all the previous trips resulted in either eland cows, kudu or gemsbok – but not “The Bull”.

The winding path of an “inglorious hunter”

I shot my first animal, a young warthog boar, at the tender age of 10 years old on my uncle’s farm just north of Okahandja, with an old .303 with open sights. We lay in wait on the dam wall for a warthog to come close enough. This proved to be the last animal I hunted in a long time, partly because of the horrible wound inflicted by the FMJ military issue round. My next hunting experience came a lot later in life, but more about that later. Twenty five years after my first hunt, I have started an exponential love affair for all things related to hunting and rifles.

I Walked For A Month One Day in Namibia

There was a time when Bushman trackers had names like Silent, Shadow and One Shoe. Even as late as the mid-1990s many top notch outfitters in the RSA used real bushman down in the cape. Those days are sadly gone but the magic the bushman possess is still there if you look hard enough. Today, if you ask for Bushman trackers for hunts in South Africa, like I have, you will be told they are no longer needed or even available. They have been phased out in favor of spot and stalk treks from the vehicle, except in very rare cases.
